Rallies
Our rallies are usually held at Kingston Showgrounds. The picturesque setting and beautiful grounds provide an ideal venue for us to enjoy our riding days together.
Occasionally, and in wet and cold winter months, we meet at an indoor arena, for example the Ballarat Equestrian Centre at Mount Rowan (owned and operated by the Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society).
Our rallies are relaxed get-togethers. We can choose to ride independently on the grounds, in the round yard (at the Kingston Show grounds) or have a lesson with one of our members. We break for lunch and usually everyone brings 'a plate to share'.
Janelle Wilson Memorial Clinic
Each year, a special memorial event is held in honour of former club member Janelle Wilson on the March Labour Day Long Weekend. The three-day clinic involves lessons by an instructor who trained at the Spanish Riding School. After the three days of classical riding instruction the most improved rider is acknowledged, having their name engraved on the perpetual trophy. The event takes place at an indoor arena, for example the Ballarat Equestrian Centre at Mount Rowan.
At our club AGM in October, the PD White memorial trophy is voted on and presented to a riding club member who has significantly contributed to the club.
